Illustration Friday - Gluttony

This is my very very first entry into the Illustration Friday weekly theme. There are some awesome artists on the site and I feel somewhat juvenile and simplistic. However, this is what I am doing it for: to improve myself and to learn from others... By the way, folks: I'm a self-taught artist. I was going to color this with something, but I think I'll just keep it simple for the first few tries.

Medium: pencil... (don't reprimand me - I used an HB pencil out of my kid's pencilbox...)

Hi Elle!
I am a first time Illustration Fridayer too! I think your drawing is cool - I even had a similar idea, but decided to go with a feline theme in the end. I love to draw, but I'm very out of practice. I too am hoping to get better with each week and learn from other great artists. Fun times ahead!

I'm new as well!!! Your illustration is fantastic!!!

My mother is an artist. Unfortunately, I am more of a musician. Yet, I like to dabble in art when I can. Illustration friday is very inspiring however! Keep up the great work!!!

I love it...gave me a chuckle...reminicent of my father's expression when you make him steak and kidney pie! good for you to join I.F...i'm a novice as well, using I.F. as a means to teach myself adobe illustrator. we'll just plug along together! having these pros will be beneficial for informative critiques.
cheers, kerry

Hey there. I think you did a great job. I am pretty much self-taught too. My entry for this theme shares some common elements with yours. Don't feel intimidated, I have been at this all my life and I always see people with more skills than me, but heck, you do what you do. The whole point of Illustration Friday, as I see it, is to participate and exercise your creative bones. So go for it!

Hey this is great. I'm a first timer too and IL is very inspiring. I'm going to enter every week just to force myself to get better. It took ages for me to get confidence to enter but enter I did. I want my blog to be an illustrated journel and there's no better place to learn then Illustration Friday.

Thanks so much to you all for your encouragement and comments. I hopefully will improve as I go... I would like to try different mediums and play with color. I am trying to teach myself some other computerized illustration and paint programs but my pen tablet is so old it doesn't work with XP and now I have to go get a new one (KACHING) or else it's like drawing with a brick (the mouse).
Thanks for visiting me!
